Tom Contreras - President
Tom Contreras became President & Chief Executive Officer of Texas Security General Insurance Agency, Inc. in 2003. Tom began his insurance career in 1988 after graduating from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas with a BBA in Finance. He also received an MBA from our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio in 1995.
Beginning in 1988, Tom worked for Foremost Insurance Company. He worked for American Modern Insurance Group from 1992 to 1997 and in late 1997; Tom subsequently joined Aegis Security Insurance Co in anticipation of becoming a partner in TSGA. Through these years, his responsibilities have included marketing, sales and product development in the general agency, independent agency and POS channels of distribution.
Larry Thompson - Marketing Director
Larry has been a part of the Texas Security General Insurance Agency’s team since May 2006 as a Senior District Manager and brings over 15 years of experience marketing to Agents in the West Texas Region.
Larry was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, moved to Lubbock and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1979. He has made Lubbock his home for the last 30 years. Larry’s family is 100% Red Raider. Larry’s wife Paula is employed by Texas Tech as a Trainer for the Department of Residence Life, his daughter Arielle graduated from Texas Tech in 2005 and his son Nick is a Pre-Med student at Texas Tech. How’s that for a true Red Raider family?
Larry’s 15 years of experience in the Insurance industry allows him to provide you with great service and product knowledge. He was employed by the Texas Auto Dealer’s Association for 2 years, worked for Adesco/Minnehoma Insurance Company for 2 years followed by his employment with Foremost Insurance Company from 1987 to 2000 as a Marketing Representative. Larry later went into business for himself and opened a retail store in Lubbock for 6 years before deciding that marketing insurance was really where he needed to be.
Larry enjoys working at TSGA due to the quality individuals, quality products and the company’s desire to always improve it’s products and services. Larry enjoys listening to live music and playing soccer during his leisure time.
Paul Numinen - ARM District Manager Southeast Texas
Paul is District Manager for Texas Security General Insurance Agency, Inc. of San Antonio, Texas. While TSGA serves over 1,400 insurance agencies throughout the state of Texas, Paul’s territory includes the Southeast quarter and the Coastal counties.
Paul has been in the insurance industry for 5 years, previously based in the Southern States. He has earned his Associate in Risk Management designation to be able to better understand risks and how to rate them. He brings to TSGA a great amount of field marketing and analysis experience that will help you grow your business.
Paul has a beautiful wife, Kristen, and daughter, both of 5 years and resides in Cypress, Texas. He has an extensive background in martial arts (which he still enjoys) and spends his leisure time playing the guitar and various sports.
Paul enjoys his job at TSGA because of the high degree of integrity and professionalism demonstrated by the individuals that work here and the products/companies we represent, as well as the exceptional service we offer to our agents.
Robert Salinas – South Texas Marketing Representative
Robert has been part of the Texas Security General Insurance Agency’s team since January 2007. He was first hired as an Associate Underwriter for TSGA then promoted to South Texas Marketing Representative in January 2008. Robert has shown tremendous growth and dedication. His experience in the Underwriting Department brings you not only a vast amount of product knowledge but a great understanding of the internal processes for TSGA.
Robert was born and raised in Laredo, Texas moved to San Antonio and graduated from the University of Texas in 2004. San Antonio has been home for him since moving from Laredo to pursue his college education. He brings to TSGA a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing.
During Robert’s employment at TSGA he has been able to see first hand the commitment that TSGA brings to “being better everyday”. Whether it be a newly developed product for a market that is ever-changing or keeping up with technology, Robert enjoys and takes pride in assisting his Agents and keeping them updated on a consistent basis. In his spare time he enjoys exercising and spending time with family and friends.
Raina Ebong - Director of Accounting
Raina has been part of the Texas Security General Insurance Agency team since September 2007. She holds the position of Director of Accounting for TSGA.
Raina was born and raised in Minnesota before moving from home to pursue her education in Accounting. She received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland in 2004 followed by a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2006. Raina worked in public accounting for 3 ½ years, specializing in taxation, before becoming part of the TSGA team.
Raina and her husband have made Texas their home for the last 5 years along with their two daughters, Amira and Jada. She enjoys being a part of a winning team as well as the challenge and diversity in overseeing the accounting duties for TSGA, CK Premium Finance and Emerald Surplus. During her free time she enjoys listening to music, playing and watching sports and watching movies.
